James Anthony Gould was charged by criminal information in the Pope County Circuit Court with first-degree murder and aggravated robbery. A jury acquitted Gould of the murder charge but convicted him of aggravated robbery. He was sentenced to forty years in prison, with an additional fifteen-year sentence for use of a firearm during the commission of the aggravated robbery.
