Appellant Russell Hudson appeals his conviction by a Faulkner County jury on a charge of rape, for which he was sentenced to twenty years' imprisonment in the Arkansas Department of Correction. Appellant argues that the circuit court erred in granting the State's request for a continuance of the jury trial and in not dismissing the charge because his right to a speedy trial was violated.
