On June 16, 2005, a Pulaski County jury convicted appellant, Robert Leander Stiggers, of first-degree murder and first-degree battery. He was sentenced to forty years imprisonment for the murder conviction and twenty years imprisonment for the battery conviction with the sentences to run consecutively.
