Rodney Porta was tried by a jury and found guilty of the offenses of possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to manufacture methamphetamine and manufacture of methamphetamine. He was sentenced to forty years and a $15,000 fine on the possession conviction and sixty years on the manufacture conviction; the trial court ordered that the sentences be served consecutively for a total of 100 years in the Arkansas Department of Correction.
