In 2012, petitioner William Earl Miller entered a plea of guilty to battery in the second degree for which he was sentenced to a term of 60 months' imprisonment. He subsequently filed in the trial court a timely, verified pro se petition for postconviction relief pursuant to Arkansas Rule of Criminal Procedure 37.1 (2012). The trial court denied the petition. No appeal was taken, and petitioner now seeks leave to proceed with a belated appeal of the order...
