In 1998, appellant James Girley was found guilty of rape by a jury in the Pulaski County Circuit Court. He was sentenced to 300 months' imprisonment. The Arkansas Court of Appeals affirmed as modified.1 Girley v. State, CACR 98-1108 (Ark. App. Mar. 24, 1999) (unpublished).
