The appellant, Joe Johnson, pleaded guilty to two counts of assault in the second degree, a violation of § 13A-6-21, Ala. Code 1975, and one count of assault in the third degree, a violation of § 13A-6-22, Ala.Code 1975. The circuit court sentenced Johnson to 10 years' imprisonment for each second-degree-assault conviction and to one year in prison for the third-degree-assault conviction.
