Jason Douglas McCary appeals the circuit court's summary dismissal of his petition for postconviction relief, filed pursuant to Rule 32, Ala. R.Crim. P., in which he attacked his October 1, 2009, guilty-plea conviction for sodomy in the first degree and his resulting sentence, as a habitual felony offender, of life imprisonment. No direct appeal was taken from McCary's guilty-plea conviction.
