Maxine Williams was convicted of one count of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, see § 13A-12-212, Ala. Code 1975, and one count of chemical endangerment of a child, see § 26-15-3.2, Ala.Code 1975. The trial court sentenced Williams, as a habitual offender, to concurrent terms of 15 years' imprisonment on each count. Williams filed a motion for a new trial, which the trial court denied....
