The appellant, Sylvia Ross, was convicted of the misapplication of property, a violation of § 13A-9-51, Ala.Code 1975, and using her position as a clerk at the Wilcox County Water Works for personal gain, a violation of the State's ethics law codified at § 36-25-5, Ala.Code 1975.
