Deangelo Thomas was convicted of two counts of robbery in the first degree, a violation of § 13A-8-41, Ala.Code 1975, and one count of criminal use of a defense spray, a violation of § 13A-6-27, Ala.Code 1975. The trial court sentenced Thomas to two terms of life in prison without the possibility of parole for his robbery convictions and one term of life imprisonment for his conviction for criminal use of a defense spray.
