In January 2002, Bettye Keating ("the administratrix"), acting as the administratrix of the estate of Maurine Brinson, deceased ("the decedent"), sued several defendants in the Walker Circuit Court, alleging various claims stemming from the decedent's death in an automobile collision involving her Toyota brand automobile. Among other things, the complaint stated products-liability claims against Toyota Motor Corporation and Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A...
