OPINION

COATS, Chief Judge.

Cynthia Lord was charged with three counts of murder in the first degree1 for killing her three sons, Christopher, Michael, and Joseph. Superior Court Judge Philip R. Volland conducted a non-jury trial. Lord asserted that she was not guilty by reason of insanity.2 Judge Volland instead found that Lord was guilty but mentally ill.3
