OPINION

MANNHEIMER, Judge.

This appeal requires us to clarify the meaning of the term "correctional facility" for purposes of the second-degree escape statute, AS 11.56.310. Under subsection (a)(1)(A) of this statute, a person commits the felony of second-degree escape if they unlawfully remove themself "from a correctional facility" while they are under official detention for any crime, even a misdemeanor.
