I. INTRODUCTION

William Pastos pled no contest to four counts of violating a protective order by engaging in unlawful contact with his former girlfriend, K.Y. The district court directed him to report to state custody the following morning. Until that time, Pastos was to have no contact, direct or indirect, with K.Y.
