Following a joint trial on two separate indictments, a jury found appellant Michael Gregory Petty guilty of two offenses of intoxication manslaughter and further found that he had used a deadly weapon, namely, a motor vehicle, during the commission of each offense.1 The jury assessed punishment at 20 years' in prison for each offense.
