Michael Brooks (Defendant) was indicted for second-degree rape, second-degree sexual offense, and assault by strangulation. He was also charged with sexual battery in a subsequently filed information. Defendant entered a guilty plea to assault by strangulation and sexual battery on 5 January 2009.
