On January 31, 2003, Alma Karina Amezcua was beaten and stabbed to death in her fiancé's apartment in Leominster. On September 29, 2005, a jury convicted Eric M. Boyarsky of murder in the first degree on the theories of extreme atrocity or cruelty, premeditation, and felony-murder. The jury also convicted the defendant of home invasion in violation of G.
