The defendant, John R. Sholar ("Sholar"), was convicted of first degree robbery1 and sentenced to thirty years at hard labor without the benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence. He appeals, arguing his sentence is excessive. For the reasons that follow, we affirm.

The State filed a bill of information charging Sholar and Joshua L. McReynolds ("McReynolds"), with armed robbery
