Gulf Coast Bank & Trust Company loaned Elizabeth and Ferdinand D'Orville money. The loan was secured by a mortgage on the D'Orvilles' home and by a guaranty signed by Norbert Simmons. The loan became delinquent, and ultimately the D'Orvilles' debt to the bank was discharged in bankruptcy.
