STATEMENT OF CASE

The State charged Nathaniel Dowl, Jr. with three counts of filing false public records, violations of La. R.S. 14:133. He entered not guilty pleas and the trial court subsequently found probable cause to charge him with those offenses. Following a three day trial, the jury returned a verdict of guilty as charged on each count. The trial court sentenced Mr. Dowl to a total of ten years imprisonment at hard...
