This criminal appeal arises from the First Judicial District Court, Parish of Caddo, State of Louisiana. Following a bench trial, the defendant, Louis Tyrone McKeaver, was convicted of manslaughter, a violation of La. R.S. 14:31. After being adjudicated a second felony offender, he was sentenced to 36 years' imprisonment at hard labor without the benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence, which McKeaver appeals.
