In the fall of 2005, American Airlines, Inc. ("American") instituted a fee of $2 per bag for curbside check-in service. Traditionally, customers utilizing such services tipped skycaps who helped them handle their bags. American charged the new fee in such a way ($2 per bag, in cash only, given directly to skycaps) that made customers think they were still tipping...
