Jeffrey Michael Thompson was convicted of the offense of injury to a child and was sentenced to 80 years confinement by a jury. On appeal, Thompson contends: (1) the trial court erred by allowing a witness to testify while holding the injured child during the guilt-innocence phase of the trial; and (2) the State engaged in improper closing argument during the punishment phase.
