The defendant Gregory Truvia was charged by grand jury indictment on May 31, 2007, with first degree murder, a violation of La. R.S. 14:30. The defendant pleaded not guilty and not guilty by reason of insanity at his June 13, 2007 arraignment. He was found competent to proceed on April 8, 2008.
