Defendant-appellant Torrence James pleaded guilty to wire fraud in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1343 and engaging in a monetary transaction in property derived from specified unlawful activity in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1957, both in connection with a scheme to fraudulently obtain mortgage loans to purchase twenty residential homes in and around Denver, Colorado.
