On 24 March 2005, the state charged Gerald Wiltz ("Wiltz" or "the defendant") with three counts of aggravated assault on a peace officer with a firearm, violations of La. R.S. 14:37.2. Counts 1 and 2 of the bill of information charged the defendant with committing aggravated assault upon Officer Matthew Robinson, and Count 3 charged him with aggravated assault upon Officer Willie Bickham. Wiltz pled not guilty on all counts at his arraignment...
