The defendant, Jeffery Jones, was charged by bill of information with possession of a firearm or other dangerous instrumentality, namely a knife, while in the possession of cocaine, a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:95(E).1 The defendant pled not guilty and, following a jury trial, was found guilty as charged.
