The defendant, Lezric Cardell Morris, was charged by grand jury indictment with one count of second degree murder, a violation of La. R.S. 14:30.1. He pleaded not guilty. Following a jury trial, he was found guilty as charged. He filed motions for a new trial, a postverdict judgment of acquittal, and in arrest of judgment, but his motions were denied. Defendant was sentenced to life imprisonment at hard labor without benefit of probation, parole, or suspension...
