In each of the above-captioned cases, the infant plaintiffs were alleged to have suffered serious injuries while they were not in the presence of their parents. When the parent plaintiffs discovered the injuries, they promptly sought medical attention. At the hospitals to which the infants were taken, both not only received medical care, but also were screened for signs of child abuse. A pediatrician...
