While investigating the fatal shooting of Alexys Anderson, the police learned of the possible involvement of Damorrial Darby. Accompanied by his parents, Darby, who was nineteen-years old, surrendered to the authorities. Officers Simms and Walker placed him under arrest for murder, and separated him from his parents for questioning.
