Wishing to serve a warrant for the arrest of Craig Nicholas Berumen II, officers of the Anchorage Police Department knocked on the door of Berumen's hotel room — but they did not announce who they were. (One of the officers later testified that they were hoping that they could gain entry by having "someone . . . simply come to the door and answer it.")
