On May 6, 2008, Officer Michael Burdyn and Sergeant Benita Giles of the United States Secret Service—Uniform Division (the "Federal Defendants") moved the Court to reconsider its decision denying their renewed motion for summary judgment, in which they asserted, inter alia, qualified immunity as a defense to the Fourth Amendment excessive force claim.1
