After suffering injuries in a motor-vehicle collision, James Roberts and Virginia Roberts were immediately taken to the University of Alabama Hospital ("the hospital") for treatment. After their release from treatment, the hospital filed liens pursuant to Ala.Code 1975, § 35-11-370 et seq., which, in pertinent part, provides for the recording of liens "for all reasonable charges for hospital care, treatment and maintenance of an injured person...
