On July 3, 2006, Kenneth Edge pleaded guilty to three counts of violating an abuse prevention order issued pursuant to G. L. c. 209A (209A order). G. L. c. 209A, § 7. For these offenses, he was sentenced to concurrent one year suspended sentences. On October 27, 2006, a grand jury indicted Edge for the crime of stalking in violation of the same 209A order. G.
