Following a jury trial on April 5, 2006, defendant, Luis A. Dominguez, was convicted of one count of aggravated domestic battery (720 ILCS 5/12-3.2(a)(1), 12-3.3(a) (West 2004)) and one count of unlawful restraint (720 ILCS 5/10-3(a) (West 2004)). On December 4, 2006, the trial court denied defendant's posttrial motions and sentenced him to five years' imprisonment for the aggravated domestic battery conviction and...
