FACTS

¶ 1. On October 10, 2004, Angelia Mieger, a paramedic, responded to a call from the Pearl River County Sheriff's Department. The sheriff's department told her that they needed an ambulance nearby because of a standoff with a gunman. Mieger waited several blocks away until she was told the premises were secured.
