STATEMENT OF THE CASE

On March 29, 2006, defendant, Sarah E. Merwin, and her co-defendant, Mona Micelotti, were charged by bill of information with simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling and structure. Defendant pled not guilty at her arraignment and after a one-day trial, she was found guilty as charged. Defendant filed a motion for new trial which was denied. The trial court then sentenced her to six years at hard labor...
