The defendant, Lawanna L. Hollins, pled guilty to cruelty to a juvenile due to the serious, life-threatening injuries that she inflicted on her infant son. The trial court sentenced her to 10 years at hard labor; it also ordered the defendant to have no future contact with the child. The defendant now appeals, claiming that her sentence is excessive.
