Scott Jarvi pled guilty in federal court to possessing, with intent to distribute, at least 5 grams of methamphetamine. Wichita police officers discovered the meth in two places — in his pick-up truck during a traffic stop, and in his house during a later search. The government conceded that the search of his truck was illegal, and Mr. Jarvi argued unsuccessfully that the meth seized in his house should be suppressed as well. He had...
