This criminal appeal arises from the Second Judicial District Court, Parish of Bienville, State of Louisiana, where the defendant, Clavin Birch, was convicted of armed robbery with a firearm. The conviction was affirmed on appeal; however, the original sentence was reversed and remanded for resentencing. On remand, Birch was sentenced to 25 years at hard labor without benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence on the conviction for armed robbery...
