Hoke Odum, Jr. was working on a construction site when a crane operated by David T. Hastings struck another crane, knocking a piece of equipment into Odum, who fell and was injured. Odum and his wife, Mary L. Odum, brought this negligence claim against Hastings and Hastings' employer, Superior Rigging & Erecting Company, Inc. ("Superior").
