On November 1, 2005, a jury in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County convicted Respondent Scott L. Rendelman of one count of extortion and one count of extortion by written threat. Respondent had mailed a letter to William Elmhirst wherein he accused Mr. Elmhirst of stealing $22,000.00 from him and demanded damages plus interest compounded at nine percent. Respondent also threatened to sue Mr. Elmhirst for this amount if Mr. Elmhirst did not pay Respondent...
