In this case, two former tenants, Peter and Rita Ludyjan, sued their former landlords, Eugene and Joan Lathers, for unjust enrichment. The tenants demand compensation for two buildings they erected at their own expense during their tenancy, claiming that the buildings added value to the land and it would be unfair to allow the landlords to keep that added value without paying for it.
