¶ 1 This case asks us to determine whether a juvenile charged with a violent or serious violent offense has a state constitutional right to a jury trial, though other juveniles do not, and whether the legislature's failure to define assault and the judiciary's development of the elements of the crime violate constitutional separation of powers.
