Defendant, Wade Beachem, was convicted in the circuit court of Cook County of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver (720 ILCS 570/401(a)(1)(A) (West 2004)) and was sentenced to six years' imprisonment. Defendant appealed his conviction and argued, inter alia, that he was entitled to credit for time served under section 5-8-7 of the Unified Code of Corrections...
