¶ 1 David Ramsden, a registered securities broker, recommended that 75-year-old G. Jerome Ives buy investments that nearly depleted all of his liquid assets. Ramsden also induced Ives to personally loan Ramsden funds to purchase a home for a very low interest rate and then defaulted. Ives passed away and, on July 1, 1999, the Ives Estate sued Ramsden, alleging: (1) breach of fiduciary duty, (2) breach of the duty of good faith and fair dealing...
