Harold McCray fell and was injured when he stepped into a gap between the back of a parked trailer and a loading dock. McCray and his wife sued Marvin Sims, Sims Transportation, Inc., and FedEx Ground Package System, Inc. (the "defendants"), claiming that Sims's negligence in parking the trailer was the direct and proximate cause of his bodily injuries, medical bills, and lost wages.
