Joel Alvin Johnson, Jr. was indicted with five counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child. See 18 U.S.C. §§ 1153, 2241(c), and 2246(2)(B). Johnson pled not guilty to all charges, and the case proceeded to trial. At the conclusion of the government's case, Johnson moved for a judgment of acquittal.
