In December 2005, a jury found defendant, Alan J. Larson, guilty of committing the offenses of aggravated cruelty to an animal (510 ILCS 70/3.02 (West 2004)) and possession of a firearm without a firearm owner's identification (FOID) card (430 ILCS 65/2(a)(1) (West 2004)).
